Quick answers about galleries, the editor and websites.
Is Cretweb only for photographers?
No. Fashion designers, makeup artists, tailors, hair stylists, florists, cake designers, interior designers, artists, jewellers and anyone with work to show can use it. Upload photos of your work, group them into albums and publish a website.
Can I make a website as an individual, without a company?
Yes. Create an account as yourself. The business options such as logo, location and custom domain are optional and folded away until you open them.
Can I take payments or sell online?
Not through Cretweb. Your website can show packages with prices and take booking requests and messages, and you agree payment with your customer yourself.
What is Cretweb?
Cretweb is a web platform for photographers. You store photos, share private client galleries, edit and retouch in your browser, and publish a portfolio website.
Do I need to install anything?
No. It runs in a modern web browser on desktop, tablet and phone.
How do I log in?
Use the Log in button at the top of any page. You can sign in with your e-mail and password, or with Google. New here? Choose Create account.
Can clients see my album without an account?
Yes. You send them a private link. They can browse, choose photos, add comments and submit without creating an account.
Can clients comment on photos?
Yes. On any chosen photo they can write a short note of up to 500 characters. You see all notes next to the chosen photos, and can export them as a CSV file.
Is my original photo ever overwritten?
No. When you save from the editor, Cretweb makes an edited copy. Your uploaded file stays as it was.
Can I edit many photos at once?
Yes. Select photos in your albums and open them together in the editor. Copy one photo’s edits to the others, or run an action set on all of them.
Does it support RAW files?
Yes, for browsing and editing: Cretweb uses the largest JPEG preview stored inside the RAW file. It is not a full RAW development, so the sensor’s extra dynamic range is not available.
Can it retouch skin without making it look fake?
The portrait tools smooth skin while keeping texture, and work on their own layer so you can fade, mask or remove the effect.
Can I open and save Photoshop files?
Yes. You can export and import PSD files with raster layers, blend modes, opacity and visibility. Text, shapes, smart objects, effects and adjustment layers are flattened.
Can I print with the right colours?
Yes. Choose an ICC profile, soft proof with an out-of-gamut warning, set print size and dpi, and save TIFF, JPEG or PNG with the profile embedded.
Can I use my own domain for my website?
Yes. Request a custom domain for your portfolio. Cretweb shows the exact DNS records to enter and can check the connection and HTTPS for you.
Does it use AI?
AI features are off by default. Only the site administrator can switch them on, and the setting applies to the whole site.
Are plugins safe?
Plugins run in an isolated sandbox with no access to the network, your account or the page. They can only read and write the picture you give them, and are stopped if they run too long.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. The editor and the gallery both adapt to phones and tablets, with a menu bar and large tap targets.
